Terms of use

Last updated: 7 August 2026

These terms cover your use of the Cosmos: Space Quiz for Kids mobile app. The app is made for children roughly 8–13 to learn about space, and is bought and managed by an adult. By using the app you agree to what follows.

1. Who we are

Cosmos: Space Quiz for Kids is provided by RipeSeed, registered at 881 C - Faisaltown, Lahore, Pakistan (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at cosmos@ripeseed.io.

2. Who may use the app

The app is designed for children, but the account holder must be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live). If you are a parent or guardian letting a child use the app, you accept these terms on their behalf and you are responsible for their use of it.

3. Children never sign in

There is no child account. A child does not register, does not enter a name or email, and is never asked for personal information anywhere in the child-facing app. There is nothing in the child experience for a child to type.

Everything intended for an adult — settings, the optional account, and every route into a purchase — sits behind a parental gate. The gate is a simple arithmetic challenge meant to keep a child from wandering into adult functionality. It is a speed bump, not a security control, and it does not replace your own supervision.

4. What the app costs

The learning slides are free for everyone, along with a limited number of free questions in every topic and difficulty. A single one-time purchase unlocks the complete question set — you pay once and it is yours forever. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel.

5. Refunds

Because Apple and Google process the payment, they also handle refunds under their own policies. Request a refund through Apple’s Report a Problem or Google Play’s refund process. If something has gone wrong on our side, email us and we will help you make the case.

6. Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use Restore purchases in the parent area — behind the parental gate — while signed in to the same Apple or Google account that made the purchase. Purchases are tied to that store account, not to any account with us.

7. Your child’s progress

Learning progress is stored on the device. A parent may optionally create an account to back it up so it survives a lost or replaced device. That account is optional; the app is fully functional without it. What is and is not stored is set out in full in our privacy policy.

We keep backups on a best-effort basis. Please do not treat the backup as the only copy of anything you cannot lose — it is a convenience for restoring a child’s stars, not an archival service.

8. Educational content

The content is written to be accurate and age-appropriate, and is reviewed before release. It is for general learning and enjoyment. It is not a substitute for a school curriculum, and we do not guarantee it matches any particular syllabus or examination board. Astronomy also moves — figures and classifications can change as new observations come in.

9. What you agree not to do

10. Our content and yours

The app, its text, illustrations, audio, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you control. The app does not accept user-generated content, so you are not granting us any licence to anything of yours. See our copyright & attributions page.

11. Availability and changes

The app works offline once installed. Cloud backup and purchases need a network connection and depend on services we do not run (Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat), so we cannot promise they are always reachable.

We may update the app, and may add, change, or retire content. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the date at the top and, where the change meaningfully affects you, tell you in the app.

12. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by deleting the app, and delete your backup account from the parent area. We may suspend access if the app is being used in a way that breaks these terms or the law.

13. Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you; these terms do not take those away.
